COLON ORCHESTRA

Colon Orchestra, was a huge "Kick Ass" salsa band in New York in the 1970's that arises in the Bronx. Led by trumpeter GUS COLON, this was one of many bands from NY not let them get through monopoly FANIA although it was not known at the beginning of his career, was one of the first orchestras in the history which is composed Young and records for one of the major record companies of America. They say the main reason why this band did not last long was due to mismanagement by Gus Colon, who allowed his personal problems get in the way of the Orchestra; some of the outstanding musicians have a great pianist and arranger Willie Mullins, heavy conga solo by Little Johnny (Riviere), it was just a child at the time, and now has an excellent band known as "El Gigante Chiquito ¨ . some of the members were about 13 or 14 years of age. They recorded with the hallmark Rico. Over time the music production and record of this band is a favorite of music lovers and connoisseurs of fine SALSA.
